Experience

1994 - 1995. – a surgeon of the “Cataract surgery and glaucoma” department of Professor Yu.M.Kondratenko

1995 - 2012 – a surgeon of the "Vitreoretinal surgery" department of Kiev Clinical Hospital "Eye Microsurgery Center".

2012 - 2014 – a Head of the "Minimally invasive vitreoretinal surgery" Department

         More than 10,000 surgeries in patients with retinal detachment, complications of diabetes, macular retinal holes, eye traumas, cataracts, pediatric vitreoretinal pathology have been performed.

         For the first time in Ukraine introduced a minimally invasive vitreoretinal surgery and performed surgeries in patients with macular retinal holes

         For the first time, among the Ukrainian vitreoretinal surgeons took part in the "live" surgery (Moscow, Russia, 2013)

The retina and vitreous diseases diagnostics and treatment (surgery, laser) has been performed in the retinal center (Retina Center)

  • Retinal detachment;
  • Diabetic retinopathy;
  • Vitreous hemorrhage;
  • Eye trauma after-effects;
  • Macular hole (standards and complicated cases);
  • Macular pucker;
  • Macular edema;
  • uveitis;
  • standards and complicated cases of cataract;
  • Complications after anterior segment surgery;
  • Endophthalmitis
  • age macular degeneration; (AMD)

We use the most modern surgical technique: Minimally invasive seamless vitrectomy 25/27 G (0.4-0.5 mm tools diameter)

Advantages of 25/27G vitrectomy use:

  • Seamless technology
  • surgery duration reducing
  • surgical trauma minimizing
  • minimal postoperative astigmatism
  • shorter term of the patient’s rehabilitation
  • maximum postoperative comfort for the patient

We performed combine procedure (phacoemulsification with IOL implantation and minimally invasive (25 / 27G) Pars Plana Vitrectomy,

For the treatment of the wet form of the age macular degeneration and macular edema, the intravitreal injection of angiogenesis inhibitors have been performed such as:

  • “Lucentis” (ranibizumab)
  • “Eylia” (aflibercept)

as well as “Ozurdex”
